Green Planet Udu - Ceramic Nigerian Hand Drum
This udu has a beautiful green matte look and a tight, clear sound. It is comfortable to play on your lap or on a table; use the palm of your hand for deep sustained notes, slap it on the side for pingy high-end sounds. Made on the potter's wheel in one piece, it's texture was achieved with gun metal green glaze. The piece was carved to achieve it's planet-like, cratered look. Made of stoneware ceramic, fired at 2200 degrees, this piece is rock solid and functional both as a musical instrument and a piece of visual art. The drum weighs 9 lbs, and is 11 inches tall and 11 inches wide.
